Mechanical Development Engineer (Human) - Medical Robotic Systems

BEC Medical GmbH is a young, dynamic start-up located at the STIMULATE research campus in Magdeburg and part of a strategic innovation partnership with the University Medical Center. Together, we are developing one of the most advanced platforms for medical robotics and artificial intelligence in Europe. This position is part of the interventional radiology project. This means we are actively working to protect medical professionals from additional radiation and facilitate procedures using a robotic system—with the central goal of sustainably improving the quality and reliability of treatment for the patient.

• Design and development of a robot system, in particular mechanical components and cabling, taking into account functional and safety-related requirements
• Creation of CAD models and technical drawings of complex components and assemblies for robotic systems
• Integration of mechanical and electrical components, such as drives and sensors, in collaboration with our external partners
• Independent implementation of regulatory requirements within the scope of medical device development
• Collaboration in a small, highly motivated, interdisciplinary development team and with external partners
• Creation and maintenance of documentation for product approval – a central component of your development work

• Degree in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, or comparable qualification
• Several years of experience in the design of complex mechatronic systems, ideally in the field of robotics or medical technology
• Confident use of CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks)
• Knowledge of cable routing and integration of electrical components into mechanical systems
• Extensive practical experience with quality management systems according to ISO 13485
• Understanding and ability to implement regulatory requirements in medical technology (MDR, CE, and FDA)
• You can communicate complex technical issues in an understandable way—both within the team and to external partners
• You are willing to take on responsibility for sub-projects and actively contribute to the further development of our product portfolio
• You are open to new technologies and willing to learn
• You want to contribute your team spirit, initiative, and structured way of working to our company
• Very good German or English skills are a prerequisite—both would be ideal, of course!
